Greetings!

On this beautiful day in May, I am thinking about the summer to come, and all the campers and staff who will be making Sherwood Forest Camp their home once again.

What comes to your mind when you think of camp? For me, the memories of camp are rooted in my senses: the smell of the wind and sunshine in the early morning when the dew is on the grass and your shoe tops, the creak of the hinges and the slam of a cabin screen door as campers run to the village logs, birds and crickets, laughter and songs.

There must be a million camp songs in my head. Whether a funny song like “The Billboard Song or a sweet song like, “500 Miles,” each one is like a quick visit to camp.

What are your favorite “loud” and “quiet” camp songs? Let’s make a list! Maybe one day we will produce a Sherwood Forest Camp CD and song book!

All the best,
