What We Look For In Our Staff
Successful staff at Sherwood Forest Camp are people who are good role models. They like working with children in an outdoor environment, are energetic, creative, possess good problem solving skills, are open-minded, appreciative of diversity, and respectful of others.
In addition, our staff are responsible, honest and trustworthy people. They have the ability to put children's needs first and can live by a set of principles and policies that help to ensure the safety and well being of every member of our community.
THE SCREENING PROCESS
Prospective staff members are required to submit an application and letters of reference. All candidates are interviewed, either in person or by telephone. All U.S candidates must undergo child abuse and neglect screenings/criminal background checks or submit a voluntary disclosure statement.
Camp Site & Facilities
Sherwood Forest Camp is located on 487 acres of wooded and rugged hills and valleys. Our facilities are "rustic" with only the basic amenities. The roads are unpaved gravel and the paths are rocky. Our buildings are well ventilated but not air-conditioned. We walk everywhere we go at camp so staff members must be able to maintain a high level of physical activity.
